Flapper footrests are used as standard footrests in all Australis sea kayaks and kayaks that have rudders. The footrests are adjusted to suit different leg lengths using a peg and clip. These provide a firm platform to brace against whilst paddling while still allowing the toes to work the flapper attachments to adjust the rudder position.
