Notched footrests (also called Block Footrests) are usually used in kayaks in hire, camp and school fleet situations where there is a high usage of different people with different leg lengths. Sometimes called 'block' footrests.

With notched footrests there is no need to continually change the length of the footrests as you just sit in and use the position that is comfortable for you.
