Saratoga compared to the Acadia 370 by Perception

  • The Saratoga has a multi-chined hull, making it:

    • Faster than the Acadia 370

    • Easier to turn than the Acadia 370

    • Giving it "secondary" stability as well as "primary" stability, making it more stable than the Acadia 370 in rougher conditions

  • The Saratoga has a full-pan seat rather than an integrated seat, so the weight of the paddler is more evenly spread over the entire surface area of the seat (and not concentrated in a few places)

  • Both kayaks have a bulkhead sealed storage area in the rear as a standard feature.

  • The Saratoga has a larger hatch, allowing bigger items to be put into the storage area.

  • Both kayaks have bungy on the front deck for storage

  • The Saratoga has 6mm decklines on the front and rear deck for extra places to secure "top-stowed" items and to grab onto during rescue procedures.

  • The Saratoga is available in "camouflage" and can also be purchased off the shelf in a "fishing" package.

  • Both kayaks have a fixed footpad to brace off, with the rudder being controlled by a flap which is hinged at the top of the fixed pad.

Saratoga compared to the Discovery by Dagger

  •

  • Whilst both the Saratoga and Discovery are made in Australia, the differences are:
    • Australis is a 100% Australian brand name.
Dagger is a foreign brand name.

    • The Saratoga was designed in Australia, by experienced Australian paddlers, for local paddling conditions.
      The Discovery was designed overseas.

    • The Saratoga is Made in Australia by an Australian company.
The Discovery is Made in Australia under licence.

  • The Saratoga has a bulkhead sealed storage area in the rear as a standard feature.

  • The Saratoga is available with or without a rudder.
